history

The oldest parts of the church were built after the Reformation in 1539. A renovation with re-inauguration was completed in 1830.

Building description

The hall church consists of parts of different ages. The sacristy in the southeast corner was probably built in 1539 and belonged to a stone church . The nave , which is covered with a gable roof , originally had a roof tower in the east . He wears a half-hip roof with a hexagonal hood crowned with a pointed tent roof . In it hangs a bronze bell that Heinrich Ziegeler from Erfurt cast in 1509. Due to the later built, retracted, longitudinally rectangular choir, the church tower looks more like a crossing tower , although there is no transept . The south side of the nave contains a risalit in which the portal is located. The staircase to the southern gallery is located in the nave . The three-sided, two-storey galleries date from the time the nave was built.

Furnishing

In the pulpit altar in the choir, an older pulpit, which was made around 1700, was inserted. In the choir there are four epitaphs for members of the von Werthern patronage family made of dark marble from the 4th quarter of the 17th century. The organ with 19 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Conrad Geißler around 1880 . In 1990–92 a general overhaul was carried out on it.
