St. Lambertus Chapel

The Roman Catholic St. Lambertus Chapel is a chapel with a plaque of honor for war victims in the Niederheid district of the city of Geilenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The St. Lambertus Chapel was built in 1905 by the villagers on Von-Humboldt-Straße. The land for the chapel building was donated by the Lowis / Herberichs. In 1961 the chapel was redesigned and assigned on April 30, 1961. The village community is responsible for care and maintenance.

description

The chapel in Niederheid is a small brick building under a gable roof . The chapel, which is closed on three sides, is plastered and decorated with a wrought iron door grille. On the roof there is a four-sided roof turret with a bell. On an altar in the chapel are a crucifix and figures of saints .

The front of the altar bears the names of the war victims and missing persons of the two world wars from Niederheid on a plaque .
