The Roman Catholic village chapel is located in the Hatterath district in the city of Geilenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The chapel is located in the district of Hatterath on Hattostraße. It is free-standing, closed on three sides with an opening to the street.

history

The year of construction of the chapel is given in iron letters as 1908. Unfortunately, no historical documents on the history of the village chapel have survived. The Corpus Christi procession in the 1940s can be seen in a few pictures . Nevertheless, the Freundeskreis Hatterath organizes an annual chapel festival alternating between the two chapels in order to collect customs , customs and tradition , but also to collect money for the maintenance of the chapels. The sociability is not neglected.

The village chapel is a small brick building with a pointed arch under a gable roof . The entrance portal is occupied by small turrets on the right and left . In the middle is a small gable cross .
