history

In 1872 the Roman Catholic religious order of Christian women founded a care station in Geilenkirchen. The buildings were constructed, in addition to the outpatient care even beds were set up. The general practitioners in the region treated their patients in this house . The chapel was built with the care station. In 1902 the house was expanded to 125 beds. During the First World War the house was used as a hospital . After the war, the order established the nursing school . The chapel was an important place with Christian values ​​for religious , patients and hospital staff at that time . During the Second World War , the hospital and with it the chapel were almost completely destroyed. After the war the house and the chapel were rebuilt. To this day, the order takes care of the care and maintenance of the chapel.

architecture

The chapel is a neo-Gothic chapel with a ribbed vault. Behind the triumphal arch the choir yoke and five-sided choir. The chapel and choir have pointed arch windows . A sacristy is attached to the choir . The roofing is gradually laid out in gable roofs with tile roofing . A roof turret with a bell adorns the building.
