The Roman Catholic St. Catherine Chapel is located in the Hochheid district in the city of Geilenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The cast iron cross in the chapel is a listed building .

The chapel is located in the Hochheid district opposite house number 22.

history

The building was erected in 1995 by the Hochheider Dorfverein eV. The listed cast iron cross was placed in the chapel as monument No. 18 of the city of Geilenkirchen. The Hochheider Dorfverein eV is responsible for care and maintenance

architecture

The chapel in Hochheid is a small brick building under a gable roof . The chapel, which is closed on three sides, is clinkered and decorated with a wrought-iron door grille. On the roof there is a ridge turret with a weathercock . There is a prayer bench in the chapel. Figures of saints , candles and flowers find their place on an altar . The listed, cast-iron crucifix found a place on the back wall .
