Kreuzkapelle (Hatterath)
The Roman Catholic Kreuzkapelle is located in the district of Hatterath in the city of Geilenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The chapel is located in the district of Hatterath on Professor Mendel Strasse. It is attached to the rear of house no. 114 and is open to the street. It is also popularly known as Heinrich's Chapel .
history
According to Keilstein, the building was erected in 1733. In 1890, an donated Geilenkirchener pharmacist a bell that was rung regularly from then on specific holidays. After it was damaged in a traffic accident in 1982, the chapel was repaired and rededicated on May 8, 1983. With donations, an electric bell was built into the place of worship in 2009 . The inauguration took place on September 6, 2009 with the participation of many villagers from Hatterath.
architecture
The Kreuzkapelle is a small brick building with a round arch under a gable roof . The roof is covered with red roof tiles. A slate roof turret with a bell and a weathercock are attached to the roof. The interior of the chapel is adorned with a statue of Joseph and Mary from the Baroque period and, since the early 1980s, the silver marks of the St. Peter and Paul Brotherhood .
