The Catholic branch Völkersleier has an eventful history. At first it belonged to the parish of Thulba , only to move to the new parish of Dittlofsroda in the later Middle Ages . The branch stayed there until the Reformation was introduced. Since then it has only been part of Diebach's church for a few decades and was incorporated into the Wolfsmünster parish as early as 1648 . From 1811 to 1822, the Windheim Curate was responsible for Völkersleier and, finally, from 1822 to the present day, the Wartmannsroth parish .

The church, built in neo-Romanesque style, was built in 1906.
