Hechingen public prosecutor's office
The public prosecutor's office in Hechingen is the law enforcement authority responsible for the district of the Hechingen regional court . It is based in Hechingen .
Tasks and responsibilities
In accordance with the jurisdiction of the Hechingen Regional Court, the district of the public prosecutor's office includes the districts of the Albstadt , Balingen , Hechingen and Sigmaringen district courts . Around 275,000 people live in the area of responsibility. The district extends on the one hand to the area of the Zollernalbkreis and on the other to parts of the Sigmaringen district . After the evaluation of the police reform in Baden-Württemberg, since January 1, 2010, investigations by the Baden-Württemberg police have been carried out by the departments within the jurisdiction of the Reutlingen (formerly Tuttlingen ) and Ravensburg (formerly Konstanz ) police headquarters .
The public prosecutor's office in Hechingen is subordinate to the general public prosecutor's office in Stuttgart ( § 147 GVG ).
To the prosecutor Hechingen currently (March 2020) a are Chief Prosecutor , a senior prosecutor , three prosecutors and First First prosecutors, nine state prosecutors as well as an Office attorney as prosecutors worked. A total of 37 people are employed by the Hechingen public prosecutor. According to the organizational statute of the public prosecutor's offices ( administrative regulation of the Ministry of Justice and for Europe Baden-Württemberg ), the Hechingen public prosecutor's office as a judicial authority is divided into two investigation departments, an enforcement department and an administrative department . The investigation departments are (factually) responsible for certain areas of criminal law or locally.
Chief Public Prosecutor Herbert Mayer was the head of the authorities in Hechingen from 1997 to 1999.
Tasks and business development
As with all public prosecutor's offices in Baden-Württemberg , annual fluctuations in the volume of business are recorded, but the numbers have increased in recent years. In 2019, the number of incoming cases leveled off at a high level with over 11,000 criminal investigation proceedings against accused persons known by name (so-called Js proceedings ).
There are also proceedings for administrative offenses and proceedings against unknown perpetrators (so-called UJs proceedings ). In 2019 the distribution was as follows:

In the past few years, charges were brought against about 1/4 of the accused (2019: 12,652 accused) or a court decision (especially a penalty order) applied for. The 11,111 process settlements (100%) are mainly divided into:

Insofar as proceedings were discontinued with the condition to pay a sum of money (so-called fines), non-profit organizations and, to a lesser extent, the state treasury received considerable sums.
Proceedings at the Hechingen public prosecutor take an average of 1.8 months.
The Hechingen public prosecutor's office enforces the decisions of the criminal courts . In addition, it enforces judicial fines, administrative fines or penalty payments , compensation for value (for confiscated objects) and enforcement detention . In proceedings under the JGG, however, the juvenile judge is also the enforcement officer. Accommodation
The public prosecutor's office is located in Hechingen in a part of the building of the former district office of the district of Hechingen (Heiligkreuzstrasse 6, 72379 Hechingen). The move to the Fürstin-Eugenie- Strasse 3, Hechingen, the former land surveying office , is planned for the end of 2022 . Before that, the building will be fundamentally renovated for 6.5 million euros.
