  • Al Asad Airbase and Erbil Airport / Iraq : The Iranian government, under the personal command of Mullah leader Ali Chamenei , is attacking US forces in Iraq at the Al Asad air base and the Erbil airport air base. The Iranian government is also threatening the destruction of Haifa in Israel.
  • Baghdad / Iraq : Katyusha rockets hit again in the green zone . One bullet misses the US embassy by only 100 meters. The missiles set fire to the city. The attack came from the south of the city. The authorities assume an attack by militias loyal to Iran.
  • Tehran / Iran : Crash of a Boeing 737-800 on Ukraine International Airlines flight 752 shortly after take-off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport . All 167 passengers and 9 crew members were killed. The Iranian authorities initially spoke of a technical defect. But three days after the crash, on January 11th, they then admitted to being shot down. Iran speaks of "human error".

  • Dortmund / Germany : 13,000 people are evacuated from downtown Dortmund on suspicion of several aircraft bombs from the Second World War. The two duds, one British and one American 250 kg bomb, can be defused. After nine hours, the residents can go back to their apartments.
  • Taal Volcano / Philippines : After the Taal volcano erupted on Saturday, over 45,000 people had to be brought to safety. A person dies in an ash rain accident.
