The men's 4 x 400 meter relay at the 2002 European Athletics Championships was held on August 10 and 11, 2002 in the Munich Olympic Stadium.
Great Britain became European champion with Jared Deacon , Matthew Elias , Jamie Baulch and Daniel Caines ( final ) as well as Sean Baldock, who was also used in the preliminary stages . Second place went to Russia with Oleg Mishukov , Andrei Semjonow , Ruslan Maschtschenko ( final ) and Yuri Borsakowski as well as Yevgeny Lebedev, who was also used in the preliminary run . Bronze went to France ( Leslie Djhone , Ahmed Douhou , Naman Keïta , Ibrahima Wade ).
The runners only used in the run-up were given corresponding precious metal.
