Ruslan Mikhailovich Mashchenko

Ruslan Mikhailovich Mashchenko ( Russian Руслан Михайлович Мащенко , English transcription Ruslan Mashchenko ; born November 11, 1971 in Voronezh ) is a former Russian hurdler and sprinter , whose specialty was the 400-meter hurdles .

Life

At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 he reached the semifinals, and at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg he was fourth.

The following year he retired from the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and reached the semi-finals with the Russian team in the 4 x 400 meter relay . 1997 followed a sixth place at the World Championships in Athens and the silver medal at the Universiade . In 1998 he won gold at the European Indoor Championships in Valencia over 400 m and silver over 400 m hurdles at the European Championships in Budapest .

In 2000 he came at the Olympic Games in Sydney over 400 m hurdles and in the 4 x 400 meter relay in the semifinals. In 2001 he moved from bronze to silver with the Russian relay in the 4 x 400 meter competition at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon after the Americans were disqualified. At the World Championships in Edmonton , he was eliminated in the semifinals.

At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 , he was seventh in the 400 m hurdles and won silver with the Russian team in the 4 x 400 m relay.
