The Stadenhauser Mergelkuhlen area is a nature reserve designated in 2006 by the Detmold regional council (NSG number LIP – 085) in the southwest of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Lage in the Lippe district in Germany .

location

The approximately 18 hectare large nature reserve Stade Hauser marl-pits is one natural area to Lipper Bergland . It extends southwest of the city center of Lagens between Bielefelder Straße ( Bundesstraße 66 ) in the north and Breitenheider Straße in the south, the district of Stadenhausen in the east and Cameroon in the west.

The Stadenhauser Mergelkuhlen protected area is described with seven former marl hollows , which are now occupied by a vegetation mosaic of forest, bushes / pre-forest, pioneering fields and limestone semi-dry lawns, with a strongly moving soil relief that lie within an otherwise arable landscape.

The Stadenhauser Mergelkuhlen are an important refuge for numerous, sometimes endangered, animal and plant species due to their high structural wealth and the closely interlinked mosaic of different types of vegetation on small-scale, changing site conditions.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the preservation of a species-rich complex of rare plant communities ( semi -arid grasslands ) with partly endangered species and diverse structured bushes and near-natural field trees and small bodies of water.

Biotope types

In the Stadenhauser Mergelkuhlen protected area , the biotope types are "beech forest", "fallow lean grassland", "mixed oak forest with indigenous deciduous tree species", "mixed ash forest", "moist tall herbaceous vegetation (extensive)", "bushes, shrub groups", "loam, clay excavation", and Small standing water ”.
