The Grutt- und Sunderbach area is a nature reserve designated in 2006 by the Detmold Regional Council (NSG number LIP-084) in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Lage in the Lippe district in Germany .

location

The four sub-areas of the approximately 20 hectare nature reserve Grutt- and Sunderbach belong naturally to the Lipper Bergland . They extend along the Gruttbach and its tributary, the Sunderbach , around two and a half kilometers west of downtown Lagens, between the districts of Kachtenhausen in the southwest, Wissentrup in the southeast and Ohrsen in the north.

The reserve Grutt- and Sunderbach is called a "two and a half kilometers long, mostly semi-natural valley portion with for lösslehmgeprägten typical box-flowing waters transverse profile free purged glacial Härtlingen (see photo), species-rich riparian woodland, Hochstaudenfluren, a small water bodies composite, abandoned grasslands and alder and ash alluvial forests “Described.

Protection purpose

The main protection purpose is the “preservation, development and restoration of a near-natural, typical bottom and box valley with near-natural, constantly water-bearing stream of local importance in the natural spatial unit of the Osning foreland as a habitat for rare, endangered and typical wild plants and animals.”

Habitat and biotope types

In the Gruttbach and Sunderbach conservation area, the habitat and biotope types "floodplain forest", "stream-accompanying alder forest", "stream-accompanying ash forest" and "flowing" and "still waters" are described.
