The participations and own operations of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen are organizational units to which the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen ( state and municipality ) has outsourced some of its tasks. This structure of the distribution of tasks between core administration, own operations and investments is called the Bremen Group .

General

According to a report by the Senate on participations, own operations and museum foundations from November 27, 2012, Bremen 2011 granted subsidies for the companies in the amount of 151.2 million euros and for the own operations and museum foundations of 81.7 million euros. The returns from the companies to the budget amounted to 38 million euros.

In 2011 there were 16,888 employees in the companies and 3,117 in the own businesses, museum foundations and real estate Bremen.

Own operations

Own businesses are not legally capable, but economically and organizationally independent units for the fulfillment of public tasks. The employees remain in the service of the legal entity. The business management is responsible, the accounting follows the regulations for business people.
