Stanley Kamel (born January 1, 1943 in South River, New Jersey , † April 8, 2008 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor .

Life

He began his career in off-Broadway theaters and television series . He had his breakthrough with the role of Eric Peters in the series Zeit der Sehnsucht . Since the 1960s, he has been a frequently booked guest star on successful American television series such as Cobra, Take Over , Kojak , Knight Rider , Beverly Hills, 90210 , Melrose Place , Starship Enterprise: The Next Century , MacGyver and Columbo, and Charlie's Angels .

He became known to a broad television audience in the television series Monk , which started in 2002, through the continuous role of the psychologist Dr. Charles Kroger is known, who treats the main character, the neurotic private detective Adrian Monk .

Kamel was found dead by his agent on April 8, 2008 in his home. He died of a heart attack at the age of 65 . In the first episode of the seventh season of Monk , reference was made to his death in terms of content and his death was commemorated in the credits with the reference In loving memory of Stanley Kamel .
