History and offer

Stayokay was founded in 1929 as the Nederlandse Jeugdherbergcentrale (NJHC; "Dutch Youth Hostel Center"). The current name comes from 2003, since then the chain has also been talking about hostels instead of youth hostels . The main office is located at Stayokay Amsterdam Zeeburg in the Indische Buurt . In addition to backpackers (especially in Amsterdam), the organization is aimed at families and groups. Some of the hostels also offer conference rooms. The accommodation offer includes multi-bed rooms and private rooms, all rooms have a shower and toilet.

Stayokay has been part of Hostelling International , an international network of more than 4000 hostels worldwide , since 1932 . In 2009 the Rotterdam branch was integrated into the cube houses . The Stayokay Heemskerk with Assumburg Castle and the Stayokay Domburg with Westhove Castle offer further special locations.
