Stephen Keep Mills

Stephen Keep Mills (born August 24, 1947 in Camden , South Carolina ) is an American actor , screenwriter , director and writer .

Life

Stephen Keep Mills graduated from Yale Drama School in 1969. Upon graduation, he was a member of the Guthrie Theater Company for two seasons . Mills has since performed with many regional theater companies, in the United States as well as in Canada . He played on Broadway in The Shadow Box and the Story Theater and appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions with, among them Vaclav Havel's play Private View (from Vanek trilogy ) at the Public Theater, for which he is a Drama Desk nomination received.

He later became active in the television industry. Since the late 1970s he has appeared regularly in numerous US TV series and several TV films, including many TV successes such as Lou Grant (1978), An American Family (1979–1980), Dallas (1980), The Waltons (1980), Love Boat (1980) and Hart aber cordially (1983). He had regular appearances in the early 80s in the television series Flo (with Polly Holliday in the title role); he played a recurring role in the science fiction series VR.5 . For cinema he worked with directors such as Woody Allen , James Toback , William Friedkin and Steven Seagal .

In 1985/86 Mills began to work on his own plays and scripts. In 2003 he filmed one of his plays, Hotel Lobby , where he was involved as a writer, producer and actor (as Horace). He made his debut as a film director with the short film A Cigar at the Beach (2006). a. ran at the Tiburon International Film Festival. he also wrote the script for the film Love is not Love (2016) directed by Matthew Toffolo . In 2008 his short film Liminal followed .
