Steven Marshall (born November 23, 1989 in Abbotsford ) is a Canadian national volleyball player and former beach volleyball player .
Career
Marshall participated as a beach volleyball player in two youth world championships. At the U19 World Cup in 2007 in Mysłowice he reached 25th place with Riley Mcfarland and two years later he was ninth at the U21 tournament in Blackpool with Sam Schachter . On the FIVB World Tour in 2010, he played alongside Ben Saxton at the Open tournaments in Marseille , Kristiansand and Åland and in 2011 again at the Åland Open with Chaim Schalk .
In parallel, Marshall began his indoor career in 2008 at Trinity Western University in Langley . With the university team, he won the CIS title in 2012. In 2013 he finished seventh at the Universiade with Canada . The following year he was in a game against the Dominican Republic his debut in the senior team . He took part in both the 2014 World League and the World Cup in Poland (7th place for Canada). In the same year, the outside attacker moved to the Polish first division club Chemik Bydgoszcz . In 2015, Marshall completed numerous tournaments with the national team. He played in the world league and the World Cup . He also won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Toronto and was NORCECA champion . In the summer of 2015, Marshall was signed by the German Bundesliga club SVG Lüneburg . With the Lower Saxony he reached the semi-finals in the Bundesliga playoffs and in the DVV Cup in the 2015/16 season . After his third World League tournament , he took part in the 2016 Olympic Games . Canada reached the quarter-finals as second in the preliminary round and then had to admit defeat to the Russians . Within the Bundesliga, Marshall moved to the German champion Berlin Recycling Volleys . He won the German championship with the club in the 2016/17 season . He then played with Canada in the world league . In the 2017/18 season he defended his title in the Bundesliga with the BR Volleys. In the summer he played in the Nations League . He then moved to İnegöl Belediye in Turkey .
