history

Finds from the 8th / 10th centuries Century indicate a Slavic settlement of Stichelsdorf. This settlement was protected by the reeds , swamps and ponds. It was first mentioned in a document as "Steckilsdorf" in 1269. Gut Stichelsdorf belonged as an exclave to the Electoral Saxon office of Petersberg until 1698 , which was formed in the course of the introduction of the Reformation in 1538/40 from the secularized property of Petersberg Monastery .

With the sale of the Petersberg district to Brandenburg-Prussia in 1697, Gut Stichelsdorf was also incorporated into the Saalkreis in the Duchy of Magdeburg . With the establishment of the Francke Foundations in Glaucha near Halle (Saale) by the theologian and educator August Hermann Francke in 1698 , the 100 hectare agricultural area was left to the foundations for their pupils to self-suffice with food.

With the Peace of Tilsit in 1807, Stichelsdorf was incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia and assigned to the Halle district in the Saale department. It belonged to the rural canton of Halle . After Napoleon's defeat and the end of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Napoleon's allied opponents liberated the Saalkreis in early October 1813. During the political reorganization after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Stichelsdorf was attached to the Merseburg administrative district of the Prussian province of Saxony in 1816 and assigned to the Saalkreis. On December 31, 1928, the Stichelsdorf manor district was incorporated into the municipality of Peißen. In 1947 the estate came under external administration. After the end of the GDR , Gut Stichelsdorf came under the administration of the Treuhandanstalt . At the end of the 1990s it was bought back by the Francke Foundations in a complicated restitution process.

On September 1, 2010, the community of Peißen was incorporated into Landsberg. Since then, Stichelsdorf has been part of the village of Peißen in the city of Landsberg.
