Stig Norén

Carl Stig Norén (born May 10, 1908 in Stockholm , † September 10, 1996 ) was a Swedish lieutenant general .

Life

Norén joined the Navy in 1930 and trained as a pilot from 1932 to 1933. After joining the Air Force, he was promoted to lieutenant in 1936 . From 1950 to 1957 he was commodore of the F 7 squadron in Såtenäs ( Skaraborgs län ) and later head of department at the headquarters of the air force. In 1966 he was promoted to lieutenant general and commander of the southern defense area until 1968. He was the first commander with responsibility for all units of the army , navy and air force stationed there after the reorganization that had been decided shortly before. After serving as chief of the air force, he was transferred to the reserve in 1973.

Stig Norén was married to Ulla Norén (1910-1996) since 1935.
