Anders Silwer (born January 20, 1959 in Båstad ) is a Swedish lieutenant general and person responsible for the training and development of the Swedish armed forces .

Life

Anders Silwer joined the Swedish armed forces in 1979 in the area of air defense , where he worked in Skåne until 1981. He then completed his training as a military pilot and was subsequently retrained on the Saab 35 Draken . Until 1992 he served in a squadron in Skåne, from 1990 also as a flight instructor and in 1992 he was selected for the Swedish staff officer course, which he completed until 1993.

From 1993 to 1995 he was first an operations officer and later a squadron commander in his old unit , before he was transferred to Stockholm in 1995 at the School of the Armed Forces for a general staff officer course. In 1998 he became the commander of the unit responsible for the tactical testing of the Saab 39 Gripen . He then worked in command of the Swedish Air Force as head of the operations department and deputy commander of the airborne units.

In 2004 he switched to the command of the Swedish armed forces and was responsible for strategic planning until 2005, then from 2006 to 2007 commander of the air operations at the joint headquarters of the armed forces. In 2007 he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Air Force, and from 2008 to 2011 he took over command of the armed forces.

Promotions

From 2012 to 2013 he was briefly Head of Operations for the Armed Forces before being appointed in charge of the training and development of the entire armed forces.

Private

Anders Silwer is married and has three children.
