This is a directory of street names in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund .

The directory gives the name of the street and (in brackets) the district. An explanation (year of naming, reason) for the street name is given. Because of the large number of streets, the directory was divided according to the first letters of the street names. Under "General" you will find the introduction and explanations of the street names in general.

  • Damaschkeweg (Tribseer / Tribseer settlement)
Named after Adolf Damaschke . He was a teacher and soil reformer. There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
  • Damitzer Strasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
Named after Gut Damitz . From 1635 until the end of the Second World War, this estate was a rural property of the Stralsund Johanniskloster . Damitz is now part of the municipality of Kramerhof in the Vorpommern-Rügen district .
  • Dänholmstrasse (Franconia / Frankenvorstadt)
Named after the island of Dänholm . The island is located in the Strelasund between the mainland and the island of Rügen .
  • Danziger Strasse (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
Named after the city of Gdansk . After the political and economic turnaround in the GDR, the residential area was mainly given the names of northern German cities with which Stralsund was closely connected at the time of the Hanseatic League .
  • David-Ike-Weg (Knieper / Knieper Nord)
Named after the mayor of Stralsund, David Ike (* 1683, † 1755), who held this office from 1740 until his death.
  • Demminer Straße (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
Named after the city of Demmin . After the political and economic turnaround in the GDR, the residential area was mainly given the names of cities with which Stralsund was closely connected during the Hanseatic League .

  • Dr.-Wilhelm-Külz-Strasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
The street was laid out as a private Kankel street in the mid-1920s . The Stralsund building contractor Kankel had built houses here. In 1925 the street was renamed Waldstraße because of its proximity to the city forest . On April 22, 1948 she was named after the German politician Dr. Wilhelm Külz named. However, there is no direct connection to Stralsund.
