This is a directory of street names in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund .

The directory gives the name of the street and (in brackets) the district. An explanation (year of naming, reason) for the street name is given. Because of the large number of streets, the directory was divided according to the first letters of the street names. Under "General" you will find the introduction and explanations of the street names in general.

  • Camminer Strasse (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
Named after the city of Cammin . After the political and economic turnaround in the GDR, the residential area was mainly given the names of cities with which Stralsund was closely connected at the time of the Hanseatic League.
  • Carl-Erich-Colberg-Weg (Knieper / Knieper North)
Named after the educator and writer Carl Erich Colberg ( 1901 - unknown). He was a teacher in Anklam and Stettin and wrote young people's literature, fairy tales and folk games. There is no direct connection to Stralsund.
  • Carl-F.-Goerdeler-Straße (Grünhufe / Grünthal-Viermorgen)
Named after the German politician Carl Friedrich Goerdeler . However, there is no connection to Stralsund.
  • Carl-Heydemann-Ring (Tribseer / Tribseer Vorstadt or Tribseer / Tribseer Siedlung)
Today's Carl-Heydemann-Ring was built in the 1930s. He is named after the last bourgeois Lord Mayor of Stralsund , who held this office from May 22, 1924 to May 20, 1936. He was a member of the DNVP . The part between today's Friedrich-Engels-Straße and Karl-Krull-Straße was previously called Mönchenhof and was named after the Brigittenkloster Mariakron (see also Jungfernstieg ). Between Tribseer Damm and Alte Richtenberger Straße the street was called An der Schleusenbrücke . In 1938 the entire street between Teichstraße (today Friedrich-Engels-Straße) and Damaschkeweg was named Horst-Wessel-Straße . Shortly after the end of the Second World War , the street was renamed Carl-Heydemann-Ring . Between 1969 and 1990 the street was called Wilhelm-Pieck-Allee , then it was again dedicated to Heydemann.

  • Carl-Ludwig-Schleich-Strasse (Knieper / Kniepervorstadt)
