Strzepowo ( German  Strippow ) is a village in Gmina Będzino (municipality Alt Banzin ) in the powiat Koszaliński of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 9 kilometers southwest of Będzino , 21 kilometers west of Koszalin ( Köslin ) and 120 kilometers northeast of the regional metropolis of Szczecin .

history

The Strippow manor was originally an old fiefdom of the Kameke family ; around 1784 the finance, war and domain councilor Alexander Friedrich von Kameke was the owner. At that time there were three farms , ten farmers, five half-farmers and a total of 44 fireplaces (households) in the manor district . In 1788 the estate was sold to a provost ; since 1813 it was owned by the Blankenburg family . Around 1820 the manor district had about 300 inhabitants. Before the Second World War , Strippow was a manor and parish in the Köslin district of the Pomerania province . During the Second World War there was a POW camp in the village from 1939 for first Polish and later Soviet prisoners of war. On March 2, 1945, the village population fled from the approaching front, but was overrun by it and therefore largely returned. On March 4, Soviet soldiers occupied the village. In the following years there were shootings, looting and rape . The estate and the farms went into Polish ownership and eventually the place became part of Poland. Strzepowo is now part of Gmina Będzino in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship .

Parish

The village had a mother church that belonged to the Köslin Synod; The neighboring village of Strachmin was parish .
