Stuart Damon (* 5. February 1937 in New York City , New York as Stuart Michael Zonis ) is an American actor .

Life

Damon made his Broadway debut in 1959 . In 1962 he played his first television role. After a few supporting roles, he received one of the leading roles in the British television series The Champions in 1968 . He celebrated his greatest success in the US soap opera General Hospital . There he played the role of Dr. Alan Quartermaine , from 1977 until his serial death in 2008. Damon was awarded an Emmy in 1999 for his role in General Hospital . He was previously nominated six times (1982, 1983, 1984, 1991, 1996, 1997). He won the Soap Opera Digest Award in 1996 and 1999. He was nominated five times for it (1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993)

Damon has been married to Deirdre Ann Ottewill since 1961. The couple have two children. In 2000 the couple adopted another child.
