The Sukhoi Su-31 ( Russian Сухой Су-31 ) is a single-seat Russian sport aircraft and is a further development of the Su-26 .
development
OKB Suchoi developed an improved two-seater version of the Su-26 under the designation Su-29 , which differed from the Su-26, among other things, by the lowered rear fuselage in half-shell construction. At the same time, a single-seater called Su-29T was developed, which was later renamed Su-31T.
The aerobatic and Sukhoi test pilot Jurgis Kairys made the first flight with the Su-31T on June 22, 1992. The Su-31 has been in series production since 1994.
description
The Su-31 is a single-seat aerobatic aircraft in composite - semi-monocoque construction . The straight wings are arranged in a low-wing construction, the horizontal stabilizer lies on the end of the fuselage. The cockpit sits behind the wings. It has a rigid chassis with a tail wheel. The roll rate is 7 rad / s (approx. 400 ° per second), the load limit in turning flight is +12 and –10 g. The ratio of weight and propeller thrust is around one, so that the Su-31 is able to “hang on the propeller” in a vertical flight position, similar to a helicopter .
The machine is equipped with an SKS-94 rescue system.
Anton Berkutow from Russia achieved the world title in motor aerobatics with a Su-31M in 2012.
