In the northeast, below the steep northeast face and the east ridge, lies the Finstertal with the Finstertal reservoir , a reservoir belonging to the Sellrain-Silz power plant group . In the north close over a sharp ridge of 2929  m above sea level. A. high Mittagsturm , the 2895  m and 2934  m high Mittagsköpf and the 2988  m high Zwölferkogel , in the south the 2965  m above sea level. A. high Gamskogel . Between Sulzkogel and Gamskogel, below a wide rocky ridge, lies the Gamskogelferner, a glacier that reaches down to 2,700  m .

ways

The normal route , a popular ski tour in winter , leads over the northern edge of the Gamskogelferner and the southern ridge to the summit. However, the first climbers Julius Pock and Bernhard Tütscher chose the ascent over the southwest flank from the Stierkar in 1878. The north ridge of the saddle south of the noon storm is significantly more difficult with III + . Furthermore, climbs over the east ridge and over the ridge between Sulzkogel and Gamskogel are possible.
