action
The wine seller Christian receives the divorce papers from his wife Anna in Denmark. Anna works in Argentina as a football manager. Since their 16-year-old son Oscar is to visit Anna, Christian decides to fly with him to dissuade his wife from the divorce. However, this already has a relationship with the Argentine soccer star Juan Diaz. This is about to start the most important Argentinian soccer game, the Superclásico . During his stay, Christian gets to know Argentine culture and people: the older, but spirited housekeeper Fernanda, with whom he has a brief affair, and the odd winemaker Mendoza, who doesn't get on particularly well with anyone, but meets a fellow sufferer in Christian. Meanwhile, son Oscar meets the tour guide Veronica. He runs away from home and starts a relationship with her. When the relationship comes to light, there are initially problems that can be resolved with Christian's help. When a first argument arises between Anna and Juan Diaz, Christian and Anna get closer again. Only then does Christian begin to let go of Anna, changed by the Argentine culture. After Juan Diaz and Anna marry, Christian makes his way home to Denmark satisfied.
reception
The film, which grossed $ 2 million in Denmark , received mostly good or mixed reviews.
“ Superclassico is a lively Danish comedy, just right for early summer. The film makes you want to go on vacation and free time, offers untiring entertainment and lives from its human actors. "
“It's good entertainment in this film, but perhaps differently than what writer and director Ole Christian Madsen intended. Because the European main actors are stolen from the show by great trump cards, especially a sullen winemaker and a no longer very young but classy housekeeper. "
"Shell comedy with an impertinent, redundant voiceover and unsympathetic characters who do not arouse sympathy."
