Surchachi ( Russian Сурхахи ; Ingush Сурхо-ТӀа ) is a village (selo) in the Republic of Ingushetia in Russia with 10,628 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is on the northern edge of the Greater Caucasus about 8 km as the crow flies east-northeast of the republic capital Magas on the upper reaches of the small right Sunscha tributary Kentsch.
Surchachi belongs to Nazranovsky Rajon and is located about 12 km east-southeast of its administrative center Nazran . The village is the seat and only locality of the rural municipality (selskoje posselenije) Surchachi.
history
The village was like other villages in the area late 18th century by Ingush established previously in the upper reaches of the Sunzha and right Terek -Nebenflusses Kambilejewka settled. In the period of the deportation of the Ingush population from 1944 to 1957 the village was predominantly of Ossetians lived and carried the Ossetian name Mamisson.

The village is located on a regional road that branches off the federal highway R217 Kawkas (formerly M29) between Nazran and Ekaschewo , continues east of Surchachi over a pass a good 800 m high into the valley of the Assa and north of the Stanitsa Nesterovskaya reaches the R217 again.
The nearest train station is in Nazran on the Beslan - Sleptsovskaya ( Sunsha ) line.
