SYFY (until September 20, 2010: SciFi ) is a German-language television station that broadcasts mystery , fantasy , science fiction films and series as well as action and horror films . The underlying original format is the US broadcaster Syfy .
The station is operated by Universal Networks International , until 2010 NBC Universal Global Networks Germany , based in Munich , a subsidiary of NBC Universal . SciFi started broadcasting on September 1, 2003 with Erwin Huber as a guest at the launch event.
reception
SYFY is digitally over cable TV and satellite as part of the pay-TV - channel packages from Sky Germany , Vodafone , Eutelsat cable kiosk , Pÿur , wilhelm.tel , Unitymedia and Diveo received too. It is also included in paid IPTV packages from Telekom and Vodafone.
SYFY HD
Since November 2010, the station has also been available in the simulcast HD version on the Swiss cable network operator Cablecom GmbH, and since November 9th on Vodafone Kabel Deutschland . The reception of SYFY HD at KabelBW was announced for December 1st . The HD version has been available via Sky since January 17, 2013 (previously only via satellite).
