Sylvius Heinrich Moritz von Frankenberg and Proschlitz (* 1732 in Kreuzburg ; † January 1, 1795 in Osterode ) was a Prussian major general and chief of the "von Rosenbruch" dragoon regiment .

Life

origin

His parents were the Prussian Colonel Karl Moritz von Frankenberg and Proschlitz (1698–1767) and his wife Eleonore, née von Kreckwitz from the Popelwitz family. His father was the commander of the Cuirassier Regiment No. 6 and since March 9, 1764 chief forest master of the Altmark and hereditary lord of Jäntschdorf.

Military career

On July 15, 1746 he was accepted into the cadet academy in Berlin . On March 26, 1752 he came as a private corporal in the "Rütz" dragoon regiment . On August 20, 1753 he became an ensign . During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles of Groß-Jägersdorf , Zorndorf , Torgau and Freiberg as well as in the battles of Fehrbellin , Meißen and Klempin. In Kernberg he took the Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal von Gemmingen prisoner. In addition, he fought both in the siege of Dresden and in the relief of Kolberg and the battle at Spie. He was also involved in the advance to Anklam. At that time he became second lieutenant on September 11, 1757 and on December 23, 1762 staff captain . On May 1, 1771 he became captain and squadron chief and on June 8, 1772 major . During the War of the Bavarian Succession he became regimental commander on November 6, 1778. On May 22, 1783 he rose to lieutenant colonel and on May 21, 1785 to colonel . At a review in Heiligenbeil on June 8, 1789, he received the order Pour le Mérite . On May 18, 1790 he became a brigadier in the West Prussian Corps, on August 18, 1790 he was major general and on September 25, 1790 chief of the "von Rosenbruch" dragoon regiment. He died on January 1st, 1795 in Osterode.

Frankenberg and Proschlitz married Elisabeth Albertine Henriette von Domhardt (1754–1795), a daughter of Johann Friedrich von Domhardt . The couple had the following children:
