Szwecja (German Freudenfier ) is a village in the rural community Wałcz ( German Krone ) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .
geography
Szwecja is about ten kilometers northeast of Wałcz . It is a relatively large church village on the Piława (Pilow) river .
One third of the large field marrow is made up of glacial till and is very productive for undemanding fruits. Two thirds of the fields consist of sandy soils and are particularly suitable for growing potatoes and rye , but also for barley and oats . The lowlands on the Pilow are meadows and pastures.

Until 1945 the Reichsstraße R 1 ran through Freudenfier , which led from Aachen via Potsdam and Berlin to Königsberg (Prussia) and Eydtkuhnen .
history
The German Kroner Starost Hieronymus Góstomski settled two village mayors in 1590 in order to settle 30 farmers from Neumark and Pomerania here. The Starost Johannes Góstomski built the Fiermühle in 1613 and later the Hoppemühle. In 1631 the plague raged . In 1635 Freudenfier was sacked by Swedish soldiers passing through. Before 1945 it belonged to the Deutsch Krone district .
After the village was placed under Polish administration, it was given the Polish name Szwecja, which means "Sweden" in German.
As old spellings there are also Freudenführer, Freudführer, Fried Führ and Friedefier.
