occupation

Deadly Trust is the title of a German television film by ZDF that was first broadcast on November 11, 2002 .

action

A series of murders has frightened the population of Kassel for two years . An apparently insane murderer kidnaps young women and keeps them prisoner in a hiding place before he finally kills them and leaves their bodies in the Kassel mountain forest. The case of Carmen Lehmann, who disappeared without a trace a year ago, is also linked to the series of murders by the public. The investigating commissioner Tönning does not want to know anything about this. The focus of his investigations is the forest worker Peter Markwart, who apparently has a disturbed relationship with women. Carmen's mother then turns to the LKA Wiesbaden and asks for help.

Then Markwart's new colleague, Johanna Dorn, discovers another corpse, whereupon the murderer tries to contact her by phone and gives the impression that he has chosen her as his next victim. Johanna reports to Commissioner Tönning about the calls, but he only suspects a busybody behind them.

Johanna met the pensioner Bernd Kortens, who found a victim himself years ago and was then called by the murderer. He gives Johanna new clues. She now sets out to search for the murderer and his hiding place.

The film was shot at locations in and around Kassel. The focus is on the imposing natural backdrop of the Wilhelmshöhe mountain park . Further scenes were recorded at Kassel's main train station , at the state theater and in the Vorderer Westen district .

criticism

“It's pretty scary in Kassel. As with the Wallace crime novels, don't ask too much about logic. [...] "

Deadly Trust is impressive as an atmospheric genre film. [...] Europe's largest mountain park and the way in which director Johannes Grieser puts it into the picture provides a special thriller atmosphere. "

- Rainer Tittelbach on tittelbach.tv

“With Kassel [...] the story has found the perfect location. The north Hessian city has some charming locations to offer as a production background that is completely unused. [...] However, the figures carefully developed by Berndt, which are invariably more than they appear to be, are even more enjoyable. "
