The Turkish national basketball team for women represents Turkey in international basketball competitions. After the women's selection at the European Women's Basketball Championship in 2005 was the first participant and host of this final round, it subsequently achieved notable successes in international competitions for the first time by winning medals at the 2011 and 2013 European Championships . As a result, the selection also qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games , in which they came fifth in 2012 , and for the World Championships , in which they took fourth place as the host in 2014 .
