Tamme Hanken

Tamme Hanken (born May 16, 1960 in Filsum ; † October 10, 2016 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German " bone breaker ", docu-soap actor and author .
Life
Hanken learned agriculture in order to take over his parents' farm . Later he no longer practiced this profession, but mainly worked for horses and dogs in the manner of a traditional East Frisian bone breaker . As a result, he gained national fame. According to his own statements, he had acquired the relevant knowledge from his grandfather. To perfect his skills, he practiced on horses intended for slaughter.
At first Hanken also treated people; However, he later gave up these treatments because he did not have the required license as a naturopath . In Filsum he ran a horse farm with his wife Carmen Hanken, who was born in the Rhineland, where the animals could be treated. About three quarters of the year he was out treating animals at home and abroad.
Several television programs and broadcasts were produced through Hanken, including the almost 80-part documentary soap Der XXL-Ostfriese for NDR . The title of the docu-soap goes back to Hanken's appearance: He was 206 cm tall and once weighed 200, most recently around 145 kg. He was also seen in the Our Land series on Bayerischer Rundfunk and a guest on several talk shows .
From March 2014 Hanken went on tour with a stage program Tamme Hanken - Der XXL-Ostfriese . He told stories of riders and horses and their problems with each other.
In 2015 he was seen on Kabel Eins in the multi-part report Ostfriesische Heilkunst .
Tamme Hanken died of sudden cardiac death on October 10, 2016 at the age of 56 . His final resting place he found in the cemetery of Filsum in the joint community Jümme , Leer district .
criticism
Hanken's treatment methods were controversial among veterinarians. In addition, Hanken's qualification was viewed critically by specialist circles. Both his diagnoses and his supposed therapy successes could not always withstand critical reviews. The long-term results of his treatments were not documented by the television broadcasts. Veterinarians had to treat the horses allegedly cured by Hanken after the broadcasts.
In 2017, the TV series Neues vom Hankenhof - Tamme forever took up old cases and reported about them.
