Hersbruck Castle
Hersbruck Castle is a castle in the small town of Hersbruck in Central Franconia .
history
It is believed that a monastery courtyard was built on the site of an old castle. A fortified “tower and seat” is known about the construction time of which nothing is known.
The only possible builders are the monastery governors, the Sulzbach counts in the 11th or early 12th, the Staufers in the late 12th or early 13th century. After 1504, the Nuremberg gentlemen ordered the demolition. The stones of the tower were used to wall the moat.
Nursing Department
In 1517, the Nuremberg master builder Hans Beheim the Younger built a simple two-storey building with a hipped roof on the foundation walls of the old bower , largely the same size as the previous building of around 27 by 11 meters. This had become necessary after 1504, the Hersbrucker country came to the territory of the free imperial city of Nuremberg and seat of the times up to eleven Pflegämter was extensive areas with which the city of Nuremberg , the administration had organized their territorial possessions.
After the future emperor Matthias and his extensive entourage had lodged in Hersbruck, the governor submitted a concept and a construction plan to the Nuremberg council in 1616 for the “increase and expansion” of the care lock “with the lowest costs”.
In 1840 the Zehntstadel was torn down and a vestry was built in its place . In 1909 half of the western castle tower was demolished, but restored in 1972.
From 1808 the castle served as the seat of a regional court , from 1862 as a district and rent office and from 1939 to 1972 as a district office .
Hersbruck District Court
Today the castle houses the Hersbruck District Court . This is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of 73 local courts in Bavaria . This is superordinated to the Regional Court of Nuremberg-Fürth , both of which in turn belong to the district of the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court .
