Tamuna Sirbiladze (born February 12, 1971 in Tbilisi ; † March 2, 2016 in Vienna ) was a Georgian-Austrian artist.

Life

Tamuna Sirbiladze was born in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia , in 1971 . After her school education, she completed an art degree there (1989-1994) at the State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi and continued her studies in Vienna at the Academy of Fine Arts (1997-2003) and the Slade School of Fine Art (2003) in London. She was the widow and artist colleague of Franz West (1947–2012), with whom she worked on numerous projects. In 2008 their son Lazare was born and in 2009 their daughter Emily was born. In her last years she lived with the writer Benedikt Ledebur .
