occupation

Murder on the River is a television film from the crime series Tatort which was produced by Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and broadcast for the first time on September 10, 2000 in the program Das Erste . It is the 454th episode of the crime scene and the 25th case of the chief detective Edgar Brinkmann , embodied by Karl-Heinz von Hassel .

action

Franz Krause's body is recovered from the Main. Since the unpopular and seriously ill man had investigated the illegal disposal of car scrap at his current company, it is reasonable to assume that his violent death had something to do with it. Krause had already caused trouble at his previous employer, the market leader Bader & Sohn GmbH.

Jan Just from the water police gives his wife Simone expensive gifts because of a bad conscience. His colleague and playmate Verena Graf is also “involved” - according to the threat from scrap dealer Wild. Just increased his claim against Bader to a quarter of a million. When the money is handed over at night, he is shot with Verena's service weapon. Marbach increases the police operation many times over.

Krause's mother, Hilde, received a key from his estate for a safe deposit box with video cassettes and other documents. The photos show Bader's truck on the Wild site and Jan Just toasting with scrap dealer Wild. Hilde Krause tells of a nocturnal argument between her son and Just. The pathology strengthens the thesis that Just was Krause's murderer.

With a fake call from Verena Graf to Erwin Bader, criminal assistant Alice Bothe believes that she can solve the case by using decoy. Graf is kidnapped by Max Bader in a speedboat that goes up in flames during a wild chase. In the end it turns out that Hilde Krause avenged her son.
