Wilfried Elste
Wilfried Elste (born February 9, 1939 in Neukretscham Silesia , German Empire ) is a German actor and radio play speaker .
Life
Wilfried Elste is the son of an artist and a farmer. After fleeing his Silesian homeland due to the war, the family first settled in Bad Sachsa before moving to Hanover, where the father found work as a graphic designer. Elste himself learned the carpentry trade, also played theater in an amateur drama group and, after completing the journeyman's examination, took acting lessons at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media from 1958 to 1961 . In 1962, Karl Vibach signed him to the Nordmark-Landestheater Schleswig, of which he was a member until 1964. In the same year Elste moved to the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart. There he met the director Peter Palitzsch , whom he followed to the Schauspiel Frankfurt in 1972, where he began an engagement that would last 32 years. In addition, Elste repeatedly had guest performance contracts, for example at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, at the Landesbühne Hanover , at the Lower Saxony State Theater Hanover and at the Avignon Festival . Freelance since 2004, he continues to play at Frankfurt theaters such as the Volkstheater , the Fritz Rémond Theater , the Frankfurt Opera and, as before, also at the theater.

In 2013 Wilfried Elste was appointed honorary member of the Frankfurt Municipal Theaters by the City of Frankfurt's Magistrate . He is married and lives in Frankfurt am Main.
