Frank Stieren (born February 10, 1966 in Oelde , Westphalia ) is a German actor .

Movie and TV

Frank Stieren grew up in the Münsterland and from 1989 to 1992 completed an acting training at the private drama school Berliner Theaterschule .

Even before completing his training, Jürgen Brauer discovered him there in 1991 for the leading role in the DEFA film Tanz auf der Kippe , alongside Dagmar Manzel . The film is based on the novel Schattenrisse by Jurij Koch . It was also during this time that he starred in the movie Lost Landscape in 1992, directed by Andreas Kleinert . Stieren was nominated for the Telestar in 1994 for his portrayal of Ralph in the ARD four-parter Die Bombe tickt .

On television , Stieren took on continuous series roles, especially episode roles and guest roles in various television series. Stieren played several times in the series Der Alte , Siska and Tatort . He was also used in romantic roles in productions such as Das Traumschiff . Stieren gained greater fame with his roles as a commissioner alongside Barbara Rudnik in the thrillers Der Parkhausmörder (1996) and Mädchenhandel (1999). In the action film Luftpiraten - 113 passengers in fear of death , Stieren played the leading role of Philipp Neuss , the head of an anti-terror troop, alongside Alexandra Maria Lara in 1999 . He was also known to a wide audience through his continuous leading roles as on-board mechanic Max Westphal in the ZDF television series Die Rettungsflieger (1996–1998) and as Commissioner Timo Laboga in the Sat.1 series Die Kumpel (2000–2001). In 2007, ZDF also engaged Stieren for the role of Dr. Max Ancker in the series Der Landarzt . Stieren also appeared in short films and children's films , most recently in 2011 in Löwenzahn .

From 1993 to 1995 Stieren was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Osnabrück Municipal Theaters . Stieren had other theater engagements at the stands in Berlin and in 2006 at the Schauspielhaus Kiel . In 2008 he played in the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg in a stage version of the novel Ein flehendes Pferd by Martin Walser . In the 2008/2009 season he took on the role of Officer Krupke in the musical West Side Story at the Kiel Opera .
