Baptismal font in Le Hamel

The baptismal font in the Catholic parish church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité in Le Hamel , a French commune in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the 13th century and modified in the 15th century. In 1908 the Gothic baptismal font was added to the list of protected objects ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique .

The 1.06 meter high baptismal font made of painted stone stands on a rectangular, two-tiered base. The octagonal main basin is provided on all eight sides with bas-reliefs made of columns with capitals in the form of human heads and lilies in between. The upper edge is decorated with plant motifs. The small basin, which was added later and is only profiled, stands on a rectangular base.
