Tayyibe Gülek

Tayyibe Gülek Domaç (* 1968 in Adana ) is a Turkish economist and has been an administrative member of the Democratic Left Party ( Democracy Sol Parti , DSP) since 2007 .

Life

Tayyibe Gülek Domaç received her Bachelor's degree cum laude from Harvard University in 1991 and her Master's in 1992 from the London School of Economics . In 1994 she became advisor to the chief coordinator for economic policy in the Prime Minister's office, where she worked in particular on the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline , in the field of coordination for the European Community and on the Southeast Anatolia project . In 1996 she completed the course on the European Union at the College of Europe in Bruges .

In the elections on April 18, 1999 , she was elected for Adana as the youngest member of the Grand National Assembly. From then on she was a member of the Turkish delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe , where she became Vice-Chair of the Committee for Human Rights and a member of the Committee for Gender Equality. In 2002 she was elected one of the upcoming Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum .

On July 12, 2002, under Prime Minister Bülent Ecevit , she was elected Minister of State for Cyprus and the Turks abroad in the Ecevit V cabinet , which she remained until November 18, 2002.
