Hikmet Sami Turk

Hikmet Sami Türk (* 1935 in Of ) is a Turkish legal scholar , politician ( DSP ) and former Minister of Justice .

Life

After studying (until 1958) at the University of Istanbul , he received his doctorate in 1964 on the subject of " The transformation of trading companies - a comparative study under German and Turkish law " at the University of Cologne . In 1967 he began teaching at Ankara University , where he obtained the academic degree “doçent” in 1977 and completed his habilitation in 1988.

From 1995 to 2002 he belonged to the province of Trabzon the Grand National Assembly of. In the Yılmaz III cabinet (June 30, 1997– January 11, 1999) he was the Minister of State responsible for human rights. He became Minister of Defense in the Ecevit IV cabinet and was Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey from May 28, 1999 to August 5, 2002 .

Since 2005 he has held the chair for constitutional law , commercial law , competition law and maritime trade law at Bilkent University in Ankara .
