Carl Ulbricht

Carl Ulbricht (born April 12, 1904 in Aussig ; † May 19, 1981 in Dresden ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was Saxon finance minister and member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Ulbricht, a printer by trade , was a member of the center and the Christian trade unions before 1933 . In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Dresden and Saxony and from 1946 was a member of the Dresden city council. In 1949 he became district chairman of the CDU Dresden-Land. Since 1950 he has been a member of the CDU's regional executive committee for Saxony. From February 1950 to November 24, 1950 he served as finance minister in the Saxon state government ( Seydewitz I cabinet ). From 1950 to 1954 Ulbricht was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR.

In 1974 Ulbricht received the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver. After his death in 1981 he found his final resting place in the Old Catholic Cemetery in Dresden.
