Hugo Weber (politician)

(Max) Hugo Weber (* December 7, 1889 in fire ; † November 14, 1975 in Munich) was a German economist and politician ( Economic Party , DNVP ).

Life

Hugo Weber worked as a trade school director in Zschopau from 1914 . In 1918 he became a trade syndicate and director of the Gewerbebank Zschopau, and since 1919 he worked as a syndic on the state committee for Saxon handicrafts in Dresden . In addition, he began studying, which he completed in 1923 with the diploma examination as an economist RDV (Reich Association of German Economists). He also got his doctorate as Dr. rer pol. from. He was also a member of the board of the state committee of the Saxon crafts and the state trade bank as well as an engineer at the mining academy.

Weber, who had joined the economic party during the Weimar Republic , was a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1926 to 1933 . From January 13, 1927 to February 18, 1930, he was Minister of Finance in the governments of the Free State of Saxony led by Prime Ministers Max Heldt and Wilhelm Bünger . As such, he was also the representative of Saxony to the Reichsrat . He was elected deputy chairman of the Economic Party on September 5, 1931, but resigned from this office on October 17, 1931, as the Reichstag faction of his party supported Heinrich Brüning's policies . On February 5, 1932, Weber moved to DNVP .
