Tecklenburg-Schwerin

The Count's House of Tecklenburg-Schwerin was created through a marital union of Richardis, heir to Count Otto IV of Tecklenburg-Bentheim , and Gunzelin VI. from Schwerin . When the male line of the Counts of Tecklenburg-Bentheim died out, the County of Tecklenburg fell to the Counts of Schwerin-Wittenburg through this marriage . Both son Nikolaus I was then from 1356 to 1356, Count of Tecklenburg . The last count from the Tecklenburg-Schwerin family was Konrad , who was the first sovereign to introduce the Reformation in Westphalia. His heir Anna founded with Eberwin III. from Bentheim-Steinfurt Ä.L. the house of Bentheim-Tecklenburg .
