Teichgut is a district of the municipality of Wahrenholz in the Gifhorn district in Lower Saxony .
Teichgut also describes a pond farm to which the village of Teichgut goes back. However, this pond property does not belong to Wahrenholz, but to the neighboring municipality of Groß Oesingen .
Teichgut in Oerreler Heide is approximately 52 hectares large Habitats Reserve No. 3329-331 and part of Natura 2000 , which includes, among others, the ponds of Teichguts.
founding
In 1908, in what was then the district of Isenhagen, the pond was founded by the Hanover Chamber of Agriculture as a teaching and testing facility to use wasteland and moorland for agriculture. In 1919 Friedrich Nabein took over the pond property and expanded it further. The fish was initially delivered to the Altona fish market . From 1908 the buildings of the pond estate were also built. The ponds were artificially created and had an area of around 110 hectares; today they are still around 55 hectares in size. In addition to fresh and smoked fish, the Teichgut also sells stocking fish for fishing clubs and garden pond owners.
In 1929 a restaurant was opened at the Teichgut, which was initially called the Löns -rug, but was soon given its current name Teichgutschänke . In 1972 the Teichgutschänke got its present form. The restaurant located on the territory of the community of Groß Oesingen is still family-owned and specializes in fish dishes. The acceptance post office originally set up in the Teichgutschänke no longer exists.
settlement
In 1933 the Teichgut settlement was founded east of the Teichgut and the first 25 settlers moved into their newly created settler positions. In the same year, a small grocery store opened, which was expanded to include a restaurant in later years. The grocery shop disappeared, the restaurant stayed and was expanded further: today's Gasthaus Heide-Eck . A campsite has been attached to the restaurant since the late 1960s .
In 1935 the school and next to it a syringe house were built. There, the Wahrenholz volunteer fire brigade stationed its hand sprayer in the new Teichgut settlement and bought a motorized sprayer.
From 1951 to 1954, the gymnastics club Teichgut, founded in 1949, built the gym , approx. 60 m next to the school, at today's K4. Since 1949, the gymnastics club has organized the heather blossom festival on the second weekend in August every year. In April 1961 the school was closed.
In 2000, an Icelandic horse stud was established with which the non-profit association "Islandpferde Teichgut eV", founded in 2017, cooperates. The Teichgut farm kindergarten has existed since at least 2011 and is supported by the Abenteuerland - Hof in Bewegungs eV association founded in 2010 . The cemetery is administered by the Wesendorf community . An important company in Teichgut is Agrar Service Meyer GmbH , which is active in trailer sales and the forwarding business. The village of Teichgut with its loosened up development is still characterized by agriculture today. In addition to the gymnastics club, which has hosted the annual heather blossom festival since 1949, there is also the FRSB riding club in Teichgut e. V. and the Realverband Teichgut .
