history

Teichhäuser emerged as a colony of the Jerischke estate and from 1816 belonged to the Sorau (Lausitz) district in the Prussian province of Brandenburg . The name of the settlement used today goes back to the ponds located to the west, on historical maps another pond can be recognized directly at the location, but it no longer exists today. In the early days, Teichhäuser was not referred to as an individual settlement, but merely as a colony or an extension. In 1821 26 people lived there. On December 1, 1871, the "Colonie Teichhäuser" belonging to the rural community of Jerischke had 24 residents in six residential buildings. Since 1874 Teichhäuser belonged to the Preschen district as part of Jerischke . On December 2, 1895, Teichhäuser had 30 residents.

After the Second World War the district of Sorau and the district of Preschen were dissolved and the municipality of Jerischke with the district of Teichhäuser was reclassified into the district of Spremberg (Lausitz) . Initially the settlement belonged to the Soviet occupation zone and from October 1949 to the GDR. During the district reform on July 25, 1952, Teichhäuser was assigned as part of Jerischke to the newly formed forest district in the Cottbus district . After reunification , Teichhäuser was located in the Forst district in the state of Brandenburg, which was merged into the new Spree-Neisse district in December 1993 . On December 31, 2001, the municipality of Jerischke merged with Groß Kölzig, Klein Kölzig, Jocksdorf and Preschen to form the new municipality of Neisse-Malxetal , to which Teichhäuser has been a residential area since then.
