The telephone prefixes in Namibia are organized and assigned by the Namibian Communications Commission (NCC) . On May 18, 2011, this was incorporated into the new, independent communications regulatory authority of Namibia (CRAN).
Dialing a Namibian number from abroad is done as follows:
- International area code + 264 ( country code ) + area code (without a leading 0) + telephone number .
Dialing within the country can always be made as follows: area code + telephone number .
In the fixed network, a number in the same area code can be dialed without the area code.

The area code for area codes in the Namibian telephone network starts with the number 06 :
- 061 - Khomas
- 062 - Grandmaheke
- 063 - Hardap and ǁKaras
- 064 - Erongo
- 065 - north of Kunene , also Ohangwena , Omusati , Oshana and Oshikoto
- 066 - Zambezi and Kavango East and West
- 067 - Oshikoto , Otjozondjupa and south of Kunene
