Thuringian Finance Court
The Thüringer Finanzgericht is a court of tax jurisdictions and the only financial court of the State of Thuringia . It is housed in the Gotha House of Insurance History.
Seat and District of the Court
The Finance Court (FG) has its seat in Gotha and has four senates . Around 2.3 million people live in the judicial district , which extends across the entire state .
building
The court, which was housed in the premises of the local court after its establishment, moved into the building at Bahnhofstrasse 3 a in 1995 , in which the Gotha Social Court also resides.
This building, planned by the Erfurt building councilor Bruno Eelbo , was commissioned by Gothaer Lebensversicherung a. G. built in the neo-renaissance style. The construction costs amounted to 690,000 marks . In 1908, the Leipzig sculptor Adolf Lehnert completed the alabaster relief Steps of Life in the stairwell. From 1917 to 1923 a southern extension was built for 400,000 marks. Fundamental renovation work was carried out from 1993 to 1995.

After the German reunification , the financial jurisprudence was initially carried out by the Senate for Financial Law at the Erfurt District Court . The Thuringian Finance Court was established on June 26, 1993 by the Thuringian Law for the Implementation of the Financial Court Regulations of June 18, 1993.
Instance move
The Thuringian Finance Court is both a higher regional court and a court of entry in the first instance in accordance with Section 2 of the Finance Court Code . The Federal Fiscal Court in Munich is superior to it .
